Admin Rules

Below are the RULES our admins are to abide by. Nobody is above them , Let us know if an admin is breaking the rules! If you don't feel comfortable posting it on the forum , email Solarflex or TONYSALEM directly at
solarflex@vegagaming.net or Tonysalem78@vegagaming.net

I take this seriously! We're here to have fun and serve the players as well as provide a good atmosphere for all , young and old !

Rule #1: Admins ; When and why you SHOULD ban or kick -
First, do not ban someone just because they piss you off because they are kicking your butt or they took something you want like a chopper or a vehicle. People will be jerks to you, and everyone can have a bad day but don't take revenge by flexing your admin muscles and kicking them. You are REQUIRED to be humble. If someone gets a vehicle you want, do not kick them. They got it fairly. If it is blatant that you were waiting and they run up and hop in and drive off , WARN THEM . If someone starts cursing at you when you kill them/they kill you, DO NOT say "HEY I'm and admin and will ban you." That's not why you are an admin. It's called War because anything goes. TKs are obviously not allowed, base raping (with infantry/ jeeps) is. Noob toobing, dolphin diving, bunny hopping ,tag teaming and any other funny names you can think of , you may not like them , BUT they are all acceptable Because there are NO rules in war other than to stay alive !!

So along those lines, admins need to monitor each other. Stay mature and if you see an admin NOT being mature, bring it up in the admin forums . The server keeps logs of all kicks/ bans and We're trying to make this the BEST place to play, NOT a Smacktard run server admined by buttheads on ego trips becuse mommy and daddy let them have some money to get a server so they could show their mad p@wnage skillz.

Rule #2: Spamming and admin language and thoughts.
We're on a mission to KEEP the reputation as the BEST admined server . The old saying is that every person you piss off knows a few people, Without Public players, we’re sitting in an empty server!!

So unfortunately we DON'T have the luxury to be pissed off or Egocentric. I know it's tough folks, but you really do have to lead by example when your talking to people. You can taunt people with the IN GAME functions if you want to, but if that's the case, DO NOT tie that in to I'm an admin ," insert wiseass / threatening comment here."

If people are spamming , and your reacting WITH YOUR ADMIN HAT ON, you must not say anything that you wouldn't say to a six year old. For example, if somebody is cussing at you (and you're obviously an admin), reply with...." that's not very nice!" If they say..."this server sucks!", you should reply....." why does the server suck...did someone TK you?" If they say "no, people are bunny hopping and noob0tubing everywhere and stupid martyrdom is getting me killed....Just say "I'm an admin....it' s legal....kill the bunny hopper! "
Common sense folks!

If they say: "You guys are bullsh*t admins" ...you need to ask "Why do you say that...is there something I can fix?". Usually when you get comments like that, there is a legitimate problem that needs to be fixed, and we are the ones they come too... Apologize about the issue after you fix it and move on. Usually, they'll feel bad about coming on so harsh. Even if the guy apologizes about cussing, you say "no problem, I understand.. .it's frustrating" . Now THAT'S a cool server admin as well as a cool person.

If the player continues to be Abusive ,Whiney etc...Ban the player becuse everybody else on the server is probably THINKING they wish that player was gone so they could enjoy their game time .

Rule #3: Our treatment towards Clans=>SHOW RESPECT !
Targeting clans is an easy way to fill up the server with teamwork oriented people. They are, in essence, the crown jewels of server players. If you guys see a new clan of maybe three guys or more, welcome them somehow or another (this sounds cheesy, but it's not. Always, if you can, let them know how we work with clans. Also, look for clans (even just two guys) that are on the opposite teams and ask them if they need switching to the same team. Then help them do it. What you do is right-click the player and hit "switch on death". You need to tell him: "OK, it'll switch on next death...might have to do it manually". Once more, always let them know that we'll make room for them if you're trying to get their whole clan on. And lastly, each time you're playing, ALWAYS tell the people with VOIP/ TEAMSPEAK on your squad that you don't recognize , to Add this server their favorite server List and tell how if need be. Try to do this every day , As we’ve had great success with this.

As you know B1 STATION is a Teamwork Community. Most of the players like this idea and know what to do when they join the server.
Most of the lone wolfs seem to be new to the game and are low ranked players, so the reason that they don't squad up is because they don't either know how to do it or assume you don't want them on the squad.
We are a community, and in being such we work towards a common goal.

HOW ADMINS ARE SUPPOSED TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE

A. Always initiate and invite to VOIP / TEAMSPEAK.
And as far as the VOIP or TS , it's funny....mos t of these guys aren't used to talking, nor are they used to discussing plans. But they WANT to do this...they just don't want to be the first person to do it , some folks are shy , so lets help them out ! ALWAYS get on a silent squad not familiar with interactive conversation , and say..." WHATSUP, GUYS!!" and get them to talking. This includes noticing when a new guy joins the squad as well. ALWAYS greet him. Sometimes they won't have a mike, but I'll talk to them anyway, warning them of enemies and complimentin g them and such. And joke around if the "mic-less" guy is on the squad for awhile and say "OK, guys...let's all chip in a buy "wittily named player"? here a microphone!" . DO IT!

B. Invite people to your squad!
Instead of admins warning people, you can invite them to a squad first. This is one of the most important tasks of the admins, for it gives much more pleasure to squad people up than to warn them.

C. Start Squads on purpose
You can even make a new squad solely to invite all lone wolfs and, when it's full, leave the squad and repeat the process. The players actually stay in the squad, and the commander now can give them a task. It doesn't take long to check to see if you have room for more people.... "FILL IT UP!"

D. Start the process of squad leading!
Another thing I do is say..." so...what's the plan, guys?!". Usually they won't have one, so I'll say..."How about we go grab the cement factory". Then the rest of the time keep suggesting plans and making minor comments and compliments. This is assuming the squad leader isn't leading. And just to make sure you don't offend the squad leader either, halfway through the round of giving orders to his squad, I'll apologize and say..."Awe jeez...I'm sorry.....I thought I was the squad leader....didn't mean to step on any toes!!". By the second round, I've got a full squad and everybody's talking. They look at us as the hosts.....Entertain when you can, and always try to make it a better experience. Give it a shot. It's interesting what a difference it makes!

E. ALWAYS tell the guys to make this their favorite server and have them write the IP down!! Particularly if they're talking.

F. Being polite
DO NOT talk about a guy in your squad as if he can't hear you....HE CAN!! If a guy is not with the program or doesn't have a mic, don't start saying...." who is so and so.." Or "will someone kick so-and- so...he's not doing anything." That's rude !!!! Treat them with RESPECT.

G. DO NOT KICK PEOPLE from a squad
Politely let them know what your doing, make sure they're not offended , and start a new one if necessary. I know when I get kicked, I get offended...d own right pissed!! If you've got a clan member you're trying to get on, ask the guy nicely and say "hey...I got a squad-mate I'd like to get on the squad...can I get a volunteer to make a space for him on this squad?". If not, just start another B1 squad. Most of the time they'll do it. If not, say "hey, We're going to form a new squad so we can fit another guy on this. When we do, you might want to invite some more people to this one.....". Get an acknowledgement from them. They can understand that. People just don't like to be singled out, kicked out, etc. You can get away with murder if you sugar-coat it. Because in theory, what you're telling some dude is..."Hey, we want to get rid of you because you're not B1 and our REAL friend needs your seat, so GET UP AND GET OUT!" That's Disrespectful l , and people don't like it.

Admin Privileges/ Unbanning:
Asking for admin privileges will not get you admin privileges as it usually insures that you will not get them . Members are only eligible for admin status after a Min 6 months of full membership, In special circumstances , there may be exceptions made.
HOWEVER, this being said please understand that being an admin at B1 is a Privilege and can be revoked at anytime if an Admin Fails to Fulfill Duties or Refuses to enforce the rules, Protect B1 or it's members.
Please do not ask us to unban someone because we won't.
For some special Reasons ONLY we might unban someone if I feel that it should be done.
Smacktardati on Clause:
It's hard to see a friend get banned and we know that. So if someone you know gets banned for whatever reason, Do not question or smack talk the admins because if you do you may fall victim to this clause. So if you don't want a friend to get banned, remind them of the ban policy if you notice him/her acting inappropriately, for instance; like running hacks while playing on other servers, talking about being in other clans or trying to create them with our members.. Just let us know and We will handle it from there, and ban them accordingly. If You don't want to go down with people like that, then do the right thing and read and follow the rules because e we want to keep the good people around here and as for the ones with bad intentions, know who you are and soon we will too. :-) We think of this place like a second home and in time you probably will too.
This is an easy place to make friends and Have fun BECUSE of these tried and true rules.
Advice to the administrators
"Please remember the bottom line is to avoid any conflicts or arguments with the trouble- makers. Never argue with them.
Do not explain too much. Never give two warnings to anyone, that is not needed. The sooner we ban or get rid of them the better. The trouble- makers are well aware of the trouble they created. As an administrator you always should be in control of the situation and apply the ban policy in the best interest of the community and I will always support your decision."
